Cancún Catamaran Charter FAQ

Everything guests usually ask before chartering a sailing catamaran with us. If your question is not here, WhatsApp is the fastest way to get an answer.

Are your catamaran charters really private?

Yes, every single one. We never combine two bookings on the same boat. The catamaran, the captain, the mate and the snorkelling guide are yours for the whole charter.

What is included in the price?

Captain, mate and snorkelling guide; open bar with rum, vodka, tequila, beer, soft drinks and mixers; a hot buffet at the beach club on full-day charters; snorkelling masks, fins and vests; and a Bluetooth sound system. The dock fee of $20 USD per person is charged separately.

Where do we meet the boat?

Marina Marazul on Avenida Puerto Juárez, Cancún. It is five to ten minutes from the north Hotel Zone and Costa Mujeres, and roughly twenty-five minutes from the middle of the Hotel Zone. We send a pin and boarding instructions once your charter is confirmed.

Do you pick up from hotels?

Yes, on request and at extra cost. We arrange the right vehicle for your group — a van for a couple, a coach for a hundred and fifty guests — and confirm the lobby time the day before.

How many guests fit on each catamaran?

From 14 guests on the Azure 35 up to 250 on the two-deck events catamaran. The fleet page lists the maximum capacity of every boat.

Can we bring our own food, cake or decorations?

Cake and decorations are welcome — just let us know in advance so the crew can set them up. Outside alcohol is not permitted because the bar on board is already included and licensed.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The captain makes the call on the morning of the charter based on the port authority forecast. If the port closes or conditions are unsafe, you can move your charter to another date or receive a refund of what you have paid. Passing rain on its own does not cancel a charter.

Is snorkelling safe for children and non-swimmers?

Yes. The stops are shallow and sheltered, life vests are provided for everyone, and the guide stays in the water with the group. Anyone who prefers to stay on deck is welcome to.

How do we pay?

A deposit confirms the date and the balance is due before departure. We accept card and bank transfer, and several boats offer a discount when the balance is paid in cash. Everything is confirmed in writing before you pay anything.

How far in advance should we book?

Two to four weeks in high season (December to April, July, Easter and Thanksgiving). Three to seven days in low season. Same-day and 24 to 48 hour charters are often possible — message us and we will check what is free.

What should we bring?

Swimsuit, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and a card or cash for the dock fee and tips. Everything else is on board.

Do you sail in Spanish and English?

Both. Our captains and crew are bilingual, and you can plan the whole charter with us in either language on WhatsApp.

Still have a question?

We answer WhatsApp messages ourselves, in English or Spanish, usually within the hour between 7:00 and 21:00.
