About Cancún Sailing Catamarans

A Cancún-based charter operation running fourteen private catamarans out of Marina Marazul, with our own crews and a deliberately small number of charters per day.

We are the operator, not a reseller

Most Cancún catamaran “companies” are booking pages. When you message us you are talking to the people who run the boats: we operate our own vessels out of Marina Marazul, we know which captain is on which hull tomorrow, and we can say yes or no to a date without phoning anyone.

That is also why we can be flexible. Move the departure by an hour, add a stop, change the playlist, bring a cake — these are decisions we make with you, not requests we forward to a supplier.

Small number of charters, on purpose

We keep the daily charter count low so the crews are not stretched. A captain, a mate and a snorkelling guide on every boat, bilingual, with years of experience in the Bahía de Mujeres. It is the reason our guests write the reviews they do.

Where to find us

Departures run from Marina Marazul, Avenida Puerto Juárez, Cancún, Quintana Roo. The legal entity behind the brand is Servicios Heidern S.A. de C.V., a registered Mexican tour operator.

Our sister operation, Private Catamaran Cancún, holds a 4.8 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor across the same fleet and crews.

How we work, in practice

Four things we do differently from most of what you will find searching for a catamaran in Cancún. None of them are slogans — you can check all four before you pay us anything.

We publish the prices

Every rate for every boat is on the prices page, with the dock fee and the per-guest maths spelled out. Most operators make you request a quote first, because a lead is worth more to them than an informed visitor. We would rather you arrive already knowing whether we fit your budget.

The photos are our boats

Every image on this site is a vessel in our fleet, photographed at our marina or on our route. No stock libraries, no borrowed drone shots of somebody else’s catamaran in another country.

We will talk you out of it

If you are two people on a budget, a shared tour is cheaper and we will say so — we wrote a whole comparison that recommends the competition in the cases where they are the better buy. If the boat you picked is wrong for your group, we will move you to a cheaper one.

The person answering runs the boats

WhatsApp goes to us, not to a call centre or an outsourced agency. That is why we can confirm a date, change a departure time or agree to an extra stop in one message instead of three days of forwarded emails.

The crew

Every charter carries a captain, a mate and a snorkelling guide as a minimum — more on the larger boats, up to a sixteen-person crew on the two-deck event vessels. They are bilingual, they work these waters year round, and they are on our payroll rather than hired per trip from a pool.

That last detail is the one that shows. A crew that runs the same route every week knows which reef is calmest on a given morning, which is the difference between a good snorkelling stop and a mediocre one.

Safety and the weather call

The captain decides on the morning of your charter, based on the port authority forecast. If the port closes or conditions are unsafe, you move to another date or get your money back — that decision is not ours to fudge, and we would not want it to be. Life vests are on board for every guest, including children’s sizes, and a guide is in the water during the snorkelling stop.

Passing rain does not cancel a charter. A closed port does. The full policy is in the FAQ.

Where we operate

All departures leave from Marina Marazul on Avenida Puerto Juárez, on the west side of the bay — not from the Hotel Zone, which surprises a lot of first-time visitors. It is five to ten minutes from the north Hotel Zone and the Costa Mujeres resorts, and about thirty minutes by boat to Isla Mujeres.

We put together a full guide to reaching the marina, including both driving routes and the honest answer about parking.

The legal entity

Charters are operated by Servicios Heidern S.A. de C.V., a registered Mexican tour operator based in Cancún, Quintana Roo. Invoices and written quotes for corporate groups and conventions are issued under that name — useful if your company needs the paperwork to clear procurement.

Our other brands

The same fleet and crews also operate as Private Catamaran Cancún, which holds a 4.8 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor across 18 verified reviews. Ground transport for groups is handled by our sister company Cancún Charter Bus.
